Hello, my name is Greg Ewing and I would like to share with you a little information about who I am and where I come from. I graduated from St. Anthony Village High School in NE Minneapolis, went on to attend college at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and graduated with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education.During the next few years, I held a variety of positions at two notable Minnesota companies, 3M and Target and returned to school to begin a Master’s program in adult learning and human development. I then accepted a position as the Youth and Family Ministries Director for large congregation in Hutchinson, MN. While working at the church, the opportunity presented itself for me to transition back to education.
During my time as a teacher, I taught Psychology, American History and World History at Hutchinson High School. Throughout my teaching career, I coached both football and baseball at all levels from Jr. High to varsity. I continued my education and earned a Master’s in Education from St. Mary’s University in Winona and obtained my K – 12 Principal Licensure from Hamline University. Upon obtaining my administrative license, I accepted the position of Dean of Students at Kennedy Elementary School in Willmar, MN, where I have been working for the past four years
On a personal note, I am married to my wife Brenda and we have two sons, Peter and Jackson. When not at school, I enjoy spending time watching local sports teams, reading, walking our dog, and spending time with my family at the lake. My other passion is high school wrestling. For over 25 years, I have been a high school wrestling official and have been privileged to officiate regularly at the State tournament.
I am very excited and honored to begin this new challenge as the Principal for the Butterfield – Odin school and look forward to getting to know the students, staff, parents and members of the community.
